As a result of our recent sales posting, Douglas Battery announces changes to the sales organization effective October 2009.

Russ Miller has accepted the position of Regional Sales Manager.  Russ has been with Douglas for 11 years and has worked closely with Sales involving customer solutions, trade shows, technical presentations and is responsible for several of the Douglas patents including Stationary Battery products.  Utilizing his battery engineering knowledge along with his former sales experience, Russ provides a winning combination to the Stationary Sales team.

To further enhance our sales efforts…..

Bill Wright has accepted the position of Product Line Sales Manager.   This position will include sales responsibility of the Guardian line, exclusive customer accounts and additional product line offerings.  Starting his career with Douglas Battery fourteen years ago in the manufacturing hourly workforce, Bill was promoted into supervision.  Having worked and managed many areas in the manufacturing process, this has served as an ideal background for this position.

Both Russ and Bill have years of experience with the Stationary product line and I feel fortunate that we can utilize their abilities to increase our sales potential

Douglas Announces New Arctic Power System

LEGACY ARCTIC POWER SYSTEM

The Douglas Legacy Arctic Power System has been specially designed to improve battery performance in Cold Storage and Freezer Applications. Douglas Battery’s advancement in battery Technology has integrated the thick plate Legacy High Performance Battery with a newly developed Arctic Electrolyte solution. This solution combats the normal battery de-ration of capacity in cold temperatures and is more forgiving at the low depth of discharge rates. Using the Arctic Electrolyte Solution with a newly designed Thermal Tray Insulator, This battery will provide the most effective capacity and voltage for a Cold Storage/Freeze application.
The Legacy Arctic power System does not stop there. It uses a unique Controlled Ferro-Resonant (CFR) Charger with an optimized cold temperature setting that allows a more efficient re-charge by using a IEI charge profile and Delta Voltage over Delta Time termination for a more precise charge control. These features effectively manage the charge cycle protecting the battery against under-charging in cold temperatures, which de-rate the capacity and charge acceptance.
